"Death of a Nation, 1968" |
"Death of a Nation, 1968"
was one of the first paintings ever done by Ron. He
had come home from a year of study in France where he became enamored of
the French modern artists. He was a student at U.C. Berkeley at the
time, involved with the ongoing political activity on campus. This 1968
painting was his attempt to protest injustice in America through art. We
had thought this early painting was lost, but recently, thanks to the
Internet, the owner found Ron and sent us this photograph. She took the
painting off the wall and saw the name of it written on the back. |
