STUDY GROUP #73
January 1993 OPENING TEACHING 1. There have been many changes in the world this year, an important one being that we have a new President of the United States. Please give us an overview of the year 1993 from your perspective. We are particularly interested in the change from Bush to Clinton. Does this have any underlying spiritual implications, and how does Clinton’s presidency fit into our overall evolution at this point? 2. Do people who live lives as famous people tend to come back in another lifetime as a famous person? For example, would Lincoln tend to reincarnate as a famous politician, or would someone born into the British Royal family be born again into that family? Or, do we only take one turn as a famous person? 3. It seems that Astrology can be very helpful to our understanding of our patterns, especially with a good astrologer. But since we have free will, it seems that as we make choices and grow, that our charts should be less accurate and diverge more from the "original plan" our charts reflect. Would you comment on this? 4. Could you comment on the roles that keepsakes such as old letters and other items play in our lives? Are they truly important as reminders of the past, or are we to focus on the present moment as much as possible? 5. You said that we can work with feelings in small degrees or segments. What does a person do if negative feelings are so large that they are overwhelming, and they can’t seem to get through the negativity? 6. Would you comment on the value and shortcomings of the method of psychoanalysis in which the client lies on a couch and the therapist sits out of view, used mostly by Freudian Psychoanalysts. 7. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #74 February 1993 First, we have a couple of questions that arose out of last month's reading: 1. You've said that souls tend to emphasize one particular theme or talent over many lifetimes. In the case of Abraham Lincoln, for instance, he lived earlier as Alexander the Great, both times expressing a desire to lead large groups. Since souls are all equally powerful, how is it that one soul can successfully express as a leader again and again, while other souls seem to develop as followers? 2. Since all of us can't be leaders, or have significant impact on mankind as a whole, what is the value of our seemingly obscure individual expressions? What value does each of our simple expressions have in the overall process of life? 3. What are some of the themes that most of us are likely to express over many lifetimes? 4. When we are totally aware of our five senses, it can bring us into a now consciousness. Being in the now has great value in helping us eliminate thoughts and feelings of pain from the past, and fear of the future. For those who work with others, either physically or emotionally as therapists, what kind of therapy could we develop that would be the most effective in helping people stay in the now?' 5. Would you elaborate on the conscious, unconscious, and super-conscious forces that define each person's death experience? Is it sometimes a decision of the soul to die in a certain way for growth and learning? What part do conscious choices play in this process? 6. When a loved one is heading down a path that is self-destructive, particularly where children are suffering, we lovingly want to offer advice or guidance. As a result, often times the person we give the advice to feels judged, resenting us, and the relationship suffers. Even if we decide to keep our opinions to ourselves, how can we motivate ourselves to ``be there'' emotionally for them, as before, when we don't condone and cannot support their behavior? And what suggestions could you offer that would help the relationship to remain intact through challenging situations like this? 7. With the enlightenment and inner awakenings that we are opening up to, there comes an awareness of so many areas in our personality that need our attention. Sometimes this seems overwhelming, and we don't know where to begin in our work. How can we best sort out our priorities and better decide which areas to focus upon in our attunements and meditations? 8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #75 March 1993 1. We like to think that there is meaning and purpose in everything that happens in life. What possible purpose could there be in the horrors that are taking place in the country that is the former Yugoslavia? 2. Many people, more often women than men, suffer from migraine headaches. To what can we attribute the cause? What part does estrogen play? What can one do mentally, emotionally and physiologically to diminish or eliminate these painful headaches? 3. How can we maintain a balance between selfishness and martyrdom? 4. Some people believe that originally the deity was in the form of a mother goddess, and that patriarchal civilization subjugated and twisted these practices, substituting a male god form. Would you comment on this view? 5. Would you address, from your spiritual viewpoint, the evolution of medicine in the western countries? What is it about the souls of those who have incarnated in the west that has produced the scientific methods that preclude the existence of spiritual healing methods? 6. Why do psychotic people seem to do better with supportive, relatively superficial psychotherapy, and worse with deeply probing psychotherapy? 7. What is the best way to be with a person who is dying? How can we best help a person not be frightened? 8. What kinds of prayers are helpful for the dying? 8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #76 April 1993 From a workshop in Los Angeles, ‘‘Staying Inspired in Troubling Times.’’ 1. Most teachers are saying, and current thinking is that we are moving into a period of planetary awareness, enlightenment, and evolution generally called the Aquarian Age. At the same time, we are experiencing pollution, violence, environmental damage and other negatives at unmatched levels. Could you please explain these apparent conflicts? 2. What can you tell us spiritually about the cult in Waco, Texas. What can be done to resolve ideological conflict such as this that is taking place in Waco, TX where each side feels certain that they are right? 3. Is Los Angeles a center for Cosmic Consciousness, and if so, how can we contribute to its manifestation? 4. How can we see and overcome obstacles to finding and developing personal relationships? 5. Is violence random? And how do we as individuals end violence in the world? 6. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #77 May 1993 1. It has been reported that radio telephones can cause brain cancer. Would you comment on this? 2. Why do some people in families follow parental examples of drinking, taking drugs, and other destructive behaviors, while others in the same family reject those behaviors. What are the distinguishing characteristics between them? 3. What is happiness, and why can it be so elusive? 4. Edgar Cayce stated that evidence of Atlantis is to be found in America. Please explain the extent of the contact and influence Atlantis had with America, and the attitude the ancient Americans had toward the Atlanteans. 5. One of our study group members has heard that the earth will shift on its axis during the coming transformational shift. She would like to know if it will still be tilted at the angle in relation to the sun that it is at present, or will it be more perpendicular, or basically straight up and down, and not have the seasons that we have now. Could you please shed some light on this subject? 6. Difficulty sleeping is often associated with depression. Why does this happen? Is it beneficial to take a medication to help with sleep, in order to feel rested, or is there some usefulness in not being able to sleep at times? 7. What is going on when a person has panic attacks, extreme fear without apparent cause? Does this result from suppressing fear at other times? 8. Many young people these days have difficulty in choosing a meaningful career. They don't seem to have a passion for any particular line of work. What can you suggest for those who cannot seem to find direction in their lives to help them find a meaningful career? 9. Please close with an attunement for this month. STUDY GROUP READING #78 June 1993 1. What can you tell us about the group of Americans who fought in the Vietnam War? Is there any unifying spiritual or past life pattern for this group of people? 2. Why do some of the soldiers from this war have debilitating symptoms as a result of it, while others do not? 3. What is really happening when a person becomes "manic," including symptoms of racing thoughts, pressured speech, not needing sleep, elation, grandiosity, intrusiveness, spending a lot of money, irritability, and aggressiveness? 4. As we hear and see in the media, there seems to be an increase in violence in this country. More and more we hear of cases of murderers who seem to have absolutely no regard for human life or suffering. What can you tell us about these kinds of people from a spiritual point of view? Do they have a soul? What kind of karma are they creating? 5. Many people speak about and experience a powerful surge of spiritual feelings in certain geographical locations such as Mount Rainier and Sedona, Arizona. Is it true that some spots on earth have more spiritual energy than others, and if so, how should we relate to this information since we cannot all live in those places? And if not, why do so many people believe that these spiritual places exist? 6. Sometimes when people are opening spiritually, they get so excited about what they are learning that they want to abandon the occupation they are trained for in order to teach or work in the spiritual area. Some who do this do not make enough money working in the spiritual area, and they end up struggling and poor. They may feel that only the spiritual has value, not the ordinary, material world. What is the value of what we've been previously trained for, and how does it relate to new spiritual openings? 7 We would like you to speak to us about science. From a spiritual and evolutionary perspective, how has science molded human consciousness? How does the scientific method of fact finding compare to intuition and spiritual knowledge? 8. STUDY GROUP READING #79
July 1993 OPENING TEACHING 1. Would you comment on the idea of ‘‘lucid dreaming,’’ in which some people feel they can consciously enter and interact in their dreams as they occur during sleep? What is actually happening? Is this a beneficial process, and what distinguishes people who can do this? 2. Near death experiences have been written about quite a bit lately. The people who have them report incredible life changing experiences. Most of them no longer have any fear of death. How can we have such experiences without having to nearly die? 3. It seems that near death experiences have been more frequent because of medical technology and the ability to essentially save people's lives. Is there a larger spiritual purpose for this taking place relatively more frequently in this period of time? 4. Could you say what is happening with people with obsessive-compulsive disorder in which a person feels driven to repeat seemingly unimportant thoughts and behaviors without consciously wanting to? 5. In previous readings you have said that eating light proteins was very important for the body and you especially recommended fish as a very good light protein. Many health authorities are now warning us to limit our intake of fish due to chemical pollutants in the fish meat, especially mercury in tuna and swordfish. Would you give us specific guidelines about what quantity of fish is generally safe for us to eat given these chemical contaminants in most fish? 6. Scientists are now reporting that different colors can have a strong impact on our emotions, even for people who are completely color blind. For example, they report that pink is very soothing and helps to induce rest and sleep, even in a dark room, whereas violet increases mental alertness. Please tell us how different colors influence our emotions and how to best use color in our lives to help us to be more loving and caring people. 7. Hillary Clinton is making an unusually large impact for a first lady. Will you comment on the contribution and impact she is likely to make and what in her past lives or soul development makes this so natural for her? 8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #80 August 1993 1. Please tell us the story of the pyramids around the world. Do these date back to Atlantean times? Was their original purpose to be used as initiation facilities? 2. In terms of earth's originating souls and their experimentation with life forms, why did they create the dinosaurs and why and how did they have them become extinct? 3. Given the different power establishments which have a grip on our major institutions, how can we be hopeful and realistic in our work for change? 4. Why do we humans make such a big deal out of sex? 5. There are some systems of yoga, and perhaps other spiritual practices that use sexual energy for spiritual awakening. What is happening for us at the spiritual level when we have an orgasm? Is there a special energy that has something to do with spirituality, and, is there a difference between an orgasm from masturbation or with a loving partner? 6. To follow up, it seems that human beings, we need a system of some sort, whether it be lighting a candle or sexual expression, whatever, to lead to enlightenment. Is that basically necessary? Has it always been true that we need a system in order to align ourselves with enlightenment? 7. Some people who felt that they could become enlightened by taking LSD, are no studying the ability to become enlightened by certain kinds of electrodes in the brain, or glasses that you put on that affect the brain functioning. Can one have these kinds of enlightened experiences through affecting brain function? 8. When people have a mystical experience, one of feeling out of one's self and part of God, a very small but very important part, are they touching what it feels like at the soul level? 9. Some of us in the midst of an earth adventure fantasize about how good it would be to not be confined by the physical limitations of earth realities. On the other hand, entities communicating with us from "outside" the realms of earth indicate that there is much goodness, richness, and depth to be gained as part of the earth adventure. From your perspective, what is it about the earth adventure that makes it so precious? Just as humans may experience "the grass is greener" syndrome from time to time by seeking what is beyond earth experience, do entities not currently in physical form experience a "grass is greener" syndrome by looking fondly at earth experience? 10. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #81 September 1993 1. The Midwest has been experiencing severe flooding this summer. Can you explain the deeper spiritual causes of this flooding and what we can do to assist in the healing of this disaster? 2. The western, democratic world has spent much effort, money and force to "assist" the Soviet Union to become a capitalistic society. Now that they have succeeded, the media reports that the Soviet Union has extremely high crime, poverty and social ills. Although we may believe that democracy is the "right" way, do we have right to insist that our way be adopted by other countries. Is there a "right" way in the eyes of the souls? 3. Are there guidelines for knowing when to leave people and situations alone, trusting that they are experiencing what they want or need to experience at some level, and when or if to intervene to try to make things better? 4. We are interested in the personality matrix that expresses itself again and again as we live a succession of lives. Some people refer to this accumulation of past experiences that affects our lives as Karma. Would you help us understand more about this personality matrix? What is it, how does it work, and what is it's purpose? 5. In last month's reading, you spoke of the wise Atlantean and Egyptian initiation ceremonies which helped ones to free their consciousness from earth and heal their over involvement in earth ego. It appears that in this modern world this knowledge has been lost to the human race. Please tell us how this very valuable knowledge has come to be lost and how we today in the modern world can best open ourselves spiritually and heal our over involvement in earth ego and earth narrowness. 6. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #82 October 1993 1. How do we reconcile your view of God as pure love, and the souls as pure love, with evil people such as Hitler, or with the angry God portrayed in the Old Testament? 2. There are many teachers of ‘‘New Age’’ philosophy that say that we create our own reality by our thoughts. Is it really that simple, or are there events that happen to us that we did not create by our thoughts? 3. It has been sixteen years since Elvis Presley died, and yet he is more popular than ever. Can you tell us something about him, his past lives, his intention in this lifetime and why he has touched, and continues to touch, so many people? 4. The Los Angeles trial of the Menendez brothers, who murdered their mother and father has been in the news daily. Would you tell us what the components are of a personality that would choose to kill his own parents? Is it purely the upbringing or are there other influences? 5. How does a channeler affect the clarity and validity of the material being channeled? Does it have anything to do with the education and knowledge of the channeler? How is the guide/channeler connection determined? 6. When is a certain soul chosen to inhabit a new human body? Is it during pregnancy, or after the birth of the child? When does the soul actually enter the body? If the time varies, is there a reason for this? 7 It has been discovered by science, that we are connected to all living things through our DNA. From a spiritual perspective, is the DNA the physical reflector of the God forces? 8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #83 November 1993 1. Foremost on the minds of Californians this month are the devastating fires that have been raging out of control. It is thought that most of them are the result of arson. From a spiritual perspective, what can we learn from these fires? 2. Some of our Study Group members have an interest in the mystic, Rudolf Steiner, who wrote and lectured in Europe until his death in the 1920’s. Would you speak about his contributions to humanity, especially his vision of spiritual realities? 3. What is the spiritual reason for the births of Siamese twins? Are there past life influences that are important, or is it just a quirk of nature? 4. Scientists are now discovering that identical twins often have a great deal in common in their personalities, as well as having identical genes. They often have nearly identical tastes, desires and interests. Please tell us why two souls would decide to create two identical bodies and two very similar personalities. 5. Does one soul ever enter two bodies? 6 We have heard you say in reference to illness, that cells sometimes have an inherent tendency toward a cancerous response. What would cause this tendency? 7 Is it true that when we die suddenly we often reincarnate rapidly? 8. There are different theories about the function that dreams play in our lives. Research has shown that depriving one of dream time is damaging to the psyche. Would you give us some insights as to the purpose of dreams? 9. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. STUDY GROUP READING #84 December 1993 1. You've said that ‘‘You might call the Jesus person the most perfect reflection of God ever manifested in human form.’’ Is achieving this same perfection a goal we should have, or is it even possible for us in this time on earth? 2. Many have predicted that the Second Coming of Christ will occur at the end of the 20th century. Is this true? What is the Second Coming? Will everyone experience it or just certain people? How will it manifest in individuals? 3. As reported in the Bible, Jesus taught that the things he did, we would do, and even greater. What did he mean by that statement? 4. To what degree did the events in Jesus' life take place as taught by Christianity? If there are differences, could you tell us about some things as they really happened that would be beneficial for us to know? 5. Were those who actually recorded the Bible especially guided? Did they channel the Bible? What could you tell us about the actual recording of the Bible? 6. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month. |
