STUDY GROUP READING #97
January 1995
OPENING READING

1. At the beginning of a new year, many people’s thoughts turn toward the future. We would like to ask for some inspiration and vision toward the future of ourselves as evolving human beings. First, would you tell us what you see in the future, in terms of the evolution of our inner lives, particularly in our ability to become more aware of the spiritual realities of life? What kind of spiritual experiences can we expect?

2. Would you tell us what we can expect in the future in terms the of personal changes that we will experience in our thoughts and feelings about life in our daily personality expressions?

3. What kind of changes do you see taking place in the way we conduct our relationships with the people around us, in our immediate environment, such as family and friends?

4. As we continue to grow, what changes can we expect in our personal relationship to humanity as a whole, and the part that we personally play in the evolution of humanity?

5. Many Native Americans are excited about the recent birth of a white buffalo calf several months ago. Native American tradition considers the birth of the white buffalo calf to be a harbinger of world peace, and its birth was predicted long ago. People from all over the country have been visiting the farm where this calf was born. Does this newly-born calf truly mark a new age of peace, or is it merely superstition?

6. Several of our members have asked about the predictions of a well known psychic who specializes in predicting earth changes. He has predicted dramatic and frightening earth planetary changes during the next 10 to 15 years. It seems that some recent occurrences, such as earthquakes and floods, substantiate his prediction of the beginning of a period of earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, continental plate movements, and some polar ice thawing leading to our coastline changes. Would you please comment on the integrity of these predictions, and the possibility of them coming about?

STUDY GROUP READING #98
February 1995

1. Would you help us better understand how we can experience and express Divine Love while in human form, and how we can better express and share this most perfect love in our relationships with other human beings, even those who would challenge us?

2. You have said that all human beings are connected by an energy of love that we are not consciously aware of. How can we better touch people and be touched at our very deepest levels where you say we are connected?

3. Is the notion that we have soul mates founded in some spiritual reality, or is it a function of our imagination?

4. We’ve been discussing the Christian concept that we are all born in sin and must be saved. What is the metaphysical interpretation of original sin?

5. Some people feel an especially powerful spiritual energy at the time of their birthday--close to the actual day. Is it that the personality is more open to the soul’s influences on this day, or do the soul and the guides actually stimulate the personality and infuse it with a greater power and love at this time?

6. What can you tell us about the disease, cancer? Can you give us some insights as to the type of lessons one might be learning by choosing a body that would get cancer? From a spiritual perspective, what are the physical and emotional components of this disease?

7. What are the spiritual functions of the sun? Is the sun really on fire or is it a stream of some other kind of energy?

STUDY GROUP READING #99
March 1995

1. We want to ask about synchronicity, or significant coincidences. Are life events really random and we just make up meanings for them, or, is there meaning in everything and it is up to us to find it?

2. Are earthquakes random occurrences, or is there some kind of order to the way earthquakes occur? Will scientists ever be able to accurately predict when an earthquake will occur?

3. Is there a hierarchy in the animal kingdom? For example, are dolphins above donkeys? How do the souls perceive the significance of the animal kingdom?

4. You have said that we accept certain limits when we become human beings. For those of us who are trying to develop extrasensory abilities, are we beating our heads against the wall? Is it the limits we agreed to that make it so hard for us to peer into the spiritual realms? In light of these limits, how should we proceed in opening our extrasensory abilities?

5. Last month you spoke about the sun from a spiritual perspective. This month, would you speak about the spiritual significance of the moon?

6. You have spoken about the importance of making loving choices in the present because our choices not only affect the present, but also future lifetimes. If a person has made selfish choices in past lifetimes, and thus comes into this life with limits from those choices, do those limits make it more difficult to make loving choices in this lifetime?

7. There are reports of a virus that has the potential to wipe out our civilization. A book and TV show—"The Hot Zone"—have been produced about it. What does this mean to us at this time?

8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month.

STUDY GROUP READING #100
April 1995

1. Would you address the current status of the rainforests in South America? What is the prognosis for the health of the earth and the oxygen supply?

2. When a soul expresses in physical form, how much influence does heredity and ancestral history have on the current life, as opposed to the influence from the personality’s previous lifetimes?

3. The people of Oregon recently passed a state government initiative allowing "assisted suicide" for people who have been designated by doctors as terminally ill. This initiative is aimed at reducing the suffering in the late stages of terminal illness. Please comment on how a choice of "assisted suicide," which hastens death, would affect the person in terms of their broader existence beyond this current lifetime.

4. It seems, though, that a lot of pain can be caused by artificially prolonging life, which medical doctors and science have been able to do. So it causes unnecessary pain because, by attempting to prolong life, pain is caused. What is the difference between artificially causing death, or artificially prolonging life and causing pain. It seems that if one finds that one’s life has been prolonged but it’s a painful result, that it would be fine to terminate it when death is inevitable anyway.

5. When you say that if we don’t heal physical pain in this lifetime we will project it into the future and need to heal it then, how do you mean "heal physical pain?" Do you mean that we need to find love even in physical pain? Do you mean that we need to heal it so we don’t feel physical pain? What do you exactly mean by that?

6. Many body workers and healers say that a reaction of illness or discomfort after a session is a release, or a healing crisis. Is this true, or is something else going on? If it is true, does this mean that people around Jesus, who we know healed people, were getting sick all the time as a release after he healed them?

7. Did Jesus actually suffer on the cross, or did his consciousness rise up above the suffering of his body, somehow transcending his body? If that is so, then is that how all humans are ideally intended to react when we encounter severe physical pain?

8. Would you talk about the resurrection of Jesus? What happened, and what meaning can we derive from it today?

STUDY GROUP READING #101
May 1995

1. Our first question is about the terrible bombing of the Federal Building that took place in Oklahoma City this month. What insights can you give us into the nature of this act? What can we learn from this tragedy?

2. Would you explain the seemingly random nature of many violent acts, for example, an innocent child getting caught in gang crossfire, or the bombing in Oklahoma City. Is there always a larger picture here, or are there simply random acts?

3. I better ask this question or we’ll get phone calls. You talked about an earthquake in 1995. Were you predicting an earthquake for this year, referring to the earthquake that happened in Los Angeles last year or using just a theoretical example.

4. We want to follow up on last month’s discussion about physical pain. I believe you were referring to physical pain when you said that if we don't heal pain when we have it in this lifetime, we will heal it in a future time, and that in order to heal pain in a future time, we have to experience it in a future time. What is then, the best way to approach pain in order to heal once and for all. Is there anything wrong with reaching for pain pills? From a soul perspective, what is the most growthful, step by step way to behave when we are in physical pain?

5. Would you discuss the concept of Satan, or the devil? Is there such a thing on any level? Some people reporting near death experiences have seen what they perceive to be Satan or the devil. Would you please comment.

6. Would you please discuss the role of massage therapy and other body-mind therapies as healing approaches in our culture? Are there previous times on earth when these were more respected approaches to healing?

7. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month.

STUDY GROUP READING #102
June 1995

1. Through the media and our mailboxes we are bombarded daily with social or environmental causes that desperately appeal for our help in both time and money. But time and money are limited resources in most of our lives. Eventually, we can become overwhelmed and confused about how much of our personal resources to give to these causes and how to meet our own needs while not ignoring the problems of the world. Would you give us some help in balancing the needs of the world with our own needs?

2. Feelings of regret are very difficult to live with because they involve the past, and the past cannot be changed. It is painful to feel that we have made a choice in the past that has negatively affected the lives of those we care about. Even when we didn’t know better at the time for example, smoking during pregnancy or thought we were making the right decision, such as deciding to divorce and negatively affecting children, one has to live with the consequences of erroneous decisions. How should we work with feelings of regret?

3. Would you address the concept of "giving it up to God" versus personal choice and free will. People who are working on aligning their lives with a larger purpose talk about giving their problems or challenges up to God. How does this work? And what is the potency of this mental action?

4. You have previously mentioned that this is a period of choice and free will in human evolution. Would you expand on this, discussing how this is different from other periods?

5. Some parents believe in "training" their children to obey, while others are more likely to compromise. Would you comment on this, and give some guidelines for how to best discipline our children?

6. Is the current flurry of natural disasters around the world just a normal part of the earth’s rhythms when viewed over a long period of time, or is there some larger meaning or purpose for such disasters in the present time? Is the current frequency and intensity of these occurrences a sort of wake-up call that is intended to get our attention and give us a chance to heal our fears and become more loving?

STUDY GROUP READING #103
July 1995
OPENING READING

1. Why is sexuality such a charged issue for many people?

2. In your closing attunement for the month of March, reading #99, you talked about how if we choose to withdraw from others and heal just ourselves without helping others to heal, that this would not be the best choice. That in the end we would find it "very dissatisfying, very sad, very lonely." Given this advice from you, how should we understand the teachings of religions and groups who advocate withdrawing from society to spend very long times alone or in small groups meditating upon God. Especially the Hindu religion with its long tradition of spiritual seekers going and living in caves or ashrams for most of their lives and having little contact with others. Have these gurus really found enlightenment like this or not?

3. What is the "judgment" day as referred to in the Bible... It sounds so ominous, yet must reflect some truth. People who have experienced near death, report an assessment of their recent life. Is this the judgment day, and how does it work?

4. Is there danger in the use of microwave ovens?

5. Please comment on the Dead Sea Scrolls and their true significance? Who were most of them written by?

6. Some believe that if we are harmed by another, it is because we harmed that specific person in a past life and owe them a debt. Would you comment on this concept of karma?

7. Some people are wondering about the year 2,000 , the millennium. Is there any special significance to us spiritually or physically that we could be aware of?

8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month.

STUDY GROUP READING #104
August 1995

1. In last month’s reading you said that sexuality is a quite dramatic area of focus for humans, and that with the proper expansion of our feelings sex can in fact be quite a spiritual experience. Not withstanding the disease aspect of sex, why is it that many people have come to fear sexuality and consider it to be a negative thing, and how can they heal their fears?

2. Love is obviously important to human beings, especially romantic love. Most of us know only what we personally experience as love in this lifetime. Please talk about the larger reality of love, and how it relates to our soul, God and our past lifetimes on earth?

3. How does prayer work? Is it personal access to a general force, or the granting of requests from an objective God? Does praying to someone who has died, or who is referred to as a "saint," offer any special benefit?

4. For a little more clarification about prayer: we sometimes see on television a hardened criminal on death row who has given his life to Jesus, or prayed to Jesus and had a conversion. Surely they feel unworthy, and then they give it all up to Jesus and feel that their whole life is changed. What is happening there?

5. Can individuals without "special gifts" communicate with those they’ve known in life who have died? Should this be attempted? How can we do this ourselves? Is there a benefit in communicating with those who have passed on?

6. In meditation, is there a benefit in focusing on the point referred to as the third eye which is between and just above the eye brows? Or is it the act of focusing on any single spot that helps?

7. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month.

STUDY GROUP READING #105
September 1995

1. This first question relates to what you have been speaking about. Can individuals change their basic personality patterns, say ones that have been considered by science as genetic or that we might consider as past life influences? For example, if you are naturally shy or afraid of risk, can you become outgoing and a risk taker?

2. You speak so much about the importance of seeing our own goodness and magnificence. At times, that's difficult to do, especially when we are struggling with something. Would you give us a method to help us see or feel our own goodness in each day so that it becomes a way of being that we don't lose?

3. A follow-up on last month's reading, where you said that it's difficult to communicate with spirits or guides through words, you implied that the communication comes through feelings. We would like to know more then, about how you speak through Ron in words. And it would be interesting to know, most of us, have read the Earth Adventure and know how Ron came to do this in this lifetime; but what training, so to speak, did he have in past lifetimes to be able to do this kind of work?

4. Now, for a completely different subject here, could you discuss how the process of sleepwalking occurs? What qualities in a person lead to sleepwalking?

5. Why has the population of earth grown so much in the 20th Century? Why are so many souls returning now? It is predicted that, in the next century, the population will be much smaller again. Is this true? And if so, why? And if not, why are psychics predicting this?

6. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month.

STUDY GROUP READING #106
October 1995

1. To help us stimulate new relationships with other people, would you give us a method for making ourselves more magnetic so that we can attract other people to us?

2. It has been said that anger is a "secondary emotion" that it is motivated by fear or hurt. Is this always the case? What is the best way to work with our anger?

3. How do we distinguish between our inner fears, on the one hand, ones that are guidance telling us to take some action or really predicting the future, versus old childhood and deep unconscious fears that get triggered but in reality are not warnings and do not predict the future at all?

4. After "spiritually realized" saints die, do they maintain a discernible identity that allows them an active participation in their follower’s lives, even protecting and guiding them? For example, there was a guru who said that he will personally look out for his followers after he died. Is there value in praying to a guru or Jesus, for example, in hopes that they will personally help us? Or is the hope of receiving a dead saint’s participating in our lives a function of the imagination or belief of the disciple?

5. Is there any moral or spiritually correct way to express sexuality? Some refer to the Bible to tell us we must be married before having sex or it must be with one of the opposite sex. Does God care?

6. Can young children more easily recall details of past lives? If so, is it worthwhile to explore this with them?

7. Why does it seem that people today have difficulty forming lasting relationships? Are there more distractions or is it that people in the world are more independent and less willing to form close bonds?

8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month.

STUDY GROUP READING #107
November 1995

1. Many intense feelings were stimulated and expressed by many people after hearing the O.J. Simpson verdict. Some people felt disbelief, anger, sadness, even despair. On the other hand some felt joy, relief and victory. Some of us feel a loss of faith in our current judicial system, while others feel vindicated. Please give us a deeper view of how and why this verdict happened. Is there some form of balancing occurring around the race issues for Afro-Americans since this was seemingly a key point in the trial and verdict? Is this merely an issue of wealth? What can we do to heal our own negative feelings stirred by this event?

2. The nation has recently been obsessed with the guilt or innocence of O.J. Simpson for double murder. What happens spiritually to those who murder in their lifetime--what is the penalty now and in the future? Also, if we have killed in our past lifetimes, how do we know if we have repaid our debt?

3. Is there ever any spiritual justification for killing another human being, such as self defense or in war where the choice is made because of a belief in your country, or you’re told to kill?

4. In the book, "Healing the Heart, Healing the Body," you describe how our fears, attitudes and beliefs often create illnesses, and how by healing these we can heal our body. Please tell us if it is also possible to heal severe injuries to the body, such as the paralysis that Christopher Reeves has experienced from a severed spinal chord, using these same emotional adjustments to allow the healing forces of God to come fully into the body.

5. In the matter of laying on of hands for the purpose and intention of healing, does an initiation into a particular kind of practice, such as Reiki, becoming ordained as a Minister of some kind, or other initiations or training contribute to the healing process energetically? Or is any laying on of the hands with the intention of healing effective?

6. So, if I as an individual, go to someone who is a healer, and I believe in that person, does that contribute to my healing myself? Then, if I did not believe that person could heal me, but I thought I’d give it a try, so to speak, would I not be healed by that person?

7. How is God worshipped in the after life? Do Christians continue to worship Christ? Do like-minded souls worship together? If God encourages a variety of churches on earth, is there one "right" way to love God?

8. Please close with an attunement for us to use this month.

STUDY GROUP READING #108
December 1995

1. Each of the world religions has their own orientation toward God. Is there one eternal force that each group simply names and perceives differently, or, are there actually different forces that different cultures worship?

2. Do people’s religious belief in their present life affect their choices in their next human lifetime? Will that affect which culture they are born into?

3. There seems to be such a hunger in the world for spiritual connection, and a growing awareness of spiritual forces. Are we living in a time of quickening spirituality?

4. In last month’s reading, in your answer concerning miraculous types of healing, you said that those who follow the example of the Jesus Christ in totally giving up the personal self to the will of God can possibly make a miraculous healing of their body. How can we use Jesus' life as a model for us to try to trust in God and God’s will for us? How can we learn to trust in the goodness of God’s will for ourselves if that sometimes appears to lead us into personal suffering and pain, as it seems to have done for Jesus with his crucifixion and early death?

5. Why did Jesus allow himself to be killed at an early age? Wouldn’t it have been more loving of him to use all of the power of the forces of God that he had at his disposal to allow himself to stay alive in a human body for a much longer time so that he could continue to teach? If he had done more teaching wouldn’t that have helped to prevent so much of the confusion and distortion concerning what he really taught. That would have helped many more people, and would have prevented some of the widespread confusion about what he really taught?

6. Many people feel that this is not an easy time to have a spiritual experience. Please talk to us about how to set aside intense human difficulties to focus on the spirit of the Christmas season.
