STUDY GROUP READING #265
January 2009

OPENING READING
1. This question is from Oregon: “I would like to know about any correlations between Jesus and stories of the earlier ‘gods’ who supposedly lived between 500 and 3,000 years before Jesus. For example, Horus, an ancient Egyptian deity who was the son of Isis and Osiris; Krishna, worshiped by some in the Hindu tradition as an avatar of Vishnu, and by others as the supreme being; Dionysus, in Greek mythology, the son of Zeus; and Mithra, in the Persian tradition, considered to be a divine representative of the Creator on earth. It is believed that each of them talked about ‘truth,’ ‘the light,’ and ‘the resurrection.’ That they were surrounded by twelve disciples, and that they rose from the dead. In Ron’s book, The Mystery of The Christ Force, one of the Readings quoted there indicated that there were humans who resurrected prior to Jesus’ birth, but the earth timing spoken of in the Reading would have been even earlier than 3000 B.C. Would you clarify this?"

2. This question is also from Oregon: “The existence of evil, as I was taught as a child, was something external to me, something real, and diabolical, and outside of my control, other than my choice to ‘give in to its temptation.’ Does our current human dualistic existence—living with ideas of opposites such as good and evil, right and wrong, and so forth—create evil as an extreme example of that duality? Is there a reality known as ‘evil’ in other realms other than our human experience here on earth? What shifts can we humans create to shine the light on ‘evil’ in its many permutations?”

3. This question is from Kentucky: “In the New Testament Gospel of John, Chapter 14, verses 16 and 17, Jesus speaks to his disciples about a ‘Comforter.’ Jesus says, ‘And I will ask of my Father, and he will give you another Comforter, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it has not seen him and does not know him; but you know him because he abides with you and is in you.’ Then, in verses 24 through 26, Jesus says, ‘…this word which you hear is not my own but the Father’s 5. The following question is from a different study group member, a member from New York. You probably answered it already, but I’m going to ask it in case there’s anything else to add specific to her question. She asks: “As humans, we usually do something repeatedly because it brings us some sense of pleasure or satisfaction. When our practice of meditation brings only sleep or rest, but not the spiritual experience that we seeking, how can we motivate ourselves to keep meditating? Sometimes people go for years meditating without any particular breakthrough.”

6. This question is from California: “People who have near-death experiencwho sent me. I have spoken these things to you while I am with you, but the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom my Father will send in my name will teach you everything, and remind you of everything which I tell you.’ Would you speak about these passages? Is the Comforter that Jesus refers to the same as the Christ Force that you refer to in the Readings?” [The biblical quotes here are taken from George M. Lamsa’s New Testament that was translated directly from the Aramaic language that was spoken by Jesus.]

4. This question is from Florida: “Would you speak about Nikolai Tessla and explain to us his knowledge of harnessing the free flow of electric current present in the air? Is this an area that we should develop for the future energy problem? Is this similar to what the Atlantians used?”

5. This question is from Australia: “Many people research and study their genealogy. Would you explain how our past-life experiences tie in with what we learn about our human genealogy? Is there any connection?”

6. Would you please close with an attunement for us to use this month, and include a focus for the new year, 2007? es report profound interactions with light. Certain meditation techniques involve ‘breathing in the light.’ This suggests that there is something mystical about light. Is light simply symbolic for something spiritual, or is there an actual spiritual reality associated with light itself?”

7. We are about to enter the year 2010. What do we need to know for the upcoming year?

8. Would you please close with an attunement for us to use this month?

STUDY GROUP READING #266
February 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. Our first question is from the state of Virginia: “Many people are worried about the economy at this time. In a very practical way, what do you see will be happening to the economy over the next five years? How can we adjust to the tremendous downturn in the economy that has affected people’s retirement, life savings, and jobs, and has dramatically disturbed the lives of many? How can we manifest prosperity in a time of such worldwide contraction, or what is being called a recession, or depression?”

2. You didn’t address the question of what you see happening to the economy over the next five years. Do you want to address that?

3. This question is from Florida: “It is interesting to note that in the recent Study Group Reading for November 2008, in the answer to the question about Atlantis, you spoke about an ancient time in which souls inhabited etheric, or energy, bodies for a period of time before entering the solid physical bodies. Is this the ‘missing link’ that scientists are looking for? Did we as souls come and go in several different types of physical bodies until we decided we liked inhabiting and solidifying into the early ape-like human body?”

4. This question is from Massachusetts: “My understanding of what happens at death is that our earth personality is left behind and our soul leaves to join with other souls, or something like that. Yet, many dying people apparently ‘see’ deceased loved ones in the room before they die, and they recognize them as their parent, spouse, or other loved one. How can that deceased person be recognizable to the dying one if they have left their human personality behind?”

5. This is another question from Massachusetts: “When people plan for a funeral, memorial service, or how to manage the remains when someone has died, it's sometimes said, ‘He'd be happy we made this decision,’ or, ‘She definitely would want this to be done’ (referring to the deceased). Do people who have passed away care about earthly matters such as the service held for them, or, are they beyond such concerns, being only spirit?”

6. This question is from California, and the Study Group member writes the following: “I am obese, and I know that the only way to permanently lose the weight has to come from an act of self-love. How does a person get to self-love when they have become emotionally detached from their body because of early childhood abuse?”

7. This is another question from California: “You often say in these Study Group Readings: ‘In any moment, you can make a silent relaxation, and release, and you can simply open your heart and begin to feel the love of God.’ How do we ‘simply open our heart?’”

STUDY GROUP READING #267
March 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. Our first question is from Pennsylvania: “The current economic crisis is looking more and more to be historically significant. Some thinkers are even saying that it will mark an end to our way of life. What do you see will be the likely shape the crisis will take in the upcoming months? Looking at it from a larger point of view, would you please help us to get an ‘overview’ or ‘big picture’ understanding of these events. Is the ongoing economic collapse simply the consequence of selfish, and even criminal behavior by our leaders, something that will work itself out naturally and relatively quickly? Or, is this a major historical point of transition from an entire era of selfishness in the economy, deception in the media, and manipulation in the government?”

2. This is another question from Pennsylvania: “Would you please give us some guidance on how to personally prepare for what is looking more and more to be an economically nasty immediate future, perhaps full of hunger, deprivation, and suffering? How should we relate to what is happening? Is this just an invitation to heal our fears and work on not feeling afraid, or, is it a legitimate catastrophe in which we need, in practical terms, to focus on sustaining ourselves in physical ways?”

3. This question is from the state of Washington: “The past election was a reminder to us that people in this nation, and actually in the world, have very different beliefs, values, ideas, and views on many things. There are far-right conservatives and far-left liberals. There are religious zealots and atheists. There are people who want only peace, and people who believe in war. Would you speak to us about how people come to their beliefs, values, and perceptions so that we can possibly be more accepting of others who are much different from us?”

4. This question is also from Washington: “Gay people seem to really stir up fear and even
hatred in some people. You have said that being gay is sometimes a choice of the human, sometimes a rebellion, and sometimes a soul choice. It is clear that some people are born without a choice, such as a very masculine woman, a very feminine man, a person who feels neither male or female, those who feel that they are in the wrong body, such as a ‘transgender’ person, and those that can love either sex, such as a bi-sexual. For those who have a genetic difference that is the soul’s purpose, why would a soul choose such a life path?”

5. This question is from California: “In a recent Study Group Reading you indicated that present Homo Sapiens have come about as a result of genetic manipulation by the souls of pre-human, ape-like beings, or, at least that is my interpretation. There are deep problems for conventional evolutionary theory’s claims that natural selection, in conjunction with random genetic variation, somehow created many other, much larger ‘jumps’ in complexity and innovation in plant and animal life. My question is—Did the souls intervene in these evolutionary events to inject the ingenious new biological designs that were necessary to advance the process leading to man?”

5. This question is from a Study Group member in Kentucky who enjoys practicing the attunements described in the book, The Mystery of the Christ Force: “Would you please describe the benefits of practicing Christ Force attunements on a regular basis? Also, what would you say to those who are reluctant to attune to the Christ Force because such attunements are not part of their traditional religious beliefs?”

STUDY GROUP READING #268
April 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. Our first question is from Los Angeles: “The ancient tradition of Tantric Yoga teaches the prolonging of the act of making love in order to more effectively utilize potent orgasmic energies. Practitioners of Tantra believe that sexuality is a doorway to the divine. Would you speak about what happens when we have an orgasm? Is it purely physical, or is there a spiritual component to it?

2. This question is from Minnesota: “Some Buddhist traditions teach that illnesses such as cancer can be a warning to human kind to remind us that we have been neglecting deep
aspects of our being, such as our spiritual needs. If this is true, does it explain why cancer is so prevalent in our Western world? Have our souls given us this warning to remind us that we have neglected the spiritual in pursuit of materialism?”

3. This question is from Kentucky: “In the February, 2009 Study Group Reading, you discussed the relationship between the mind and what you called the brain-nervous-system. Would you speak to us now about thoughts and feelings? How and where do they originate, and how are they stored as memories in the mind, brain, and soul?”

4. This question is from Minnesota: “After a person dies, how long does it usually take for them to incarnate into another human body? Do they usually show up in the same family or friend group from their last lifetime? For example, could babies that are born into a particular family be the same soul as their relatives who died years earlier?”

5. This question is from California: “When someone has hurt another person in some way during their lifetime, after they die, is there punishment given in any way to the one who caused hurt? Also, for the person who was injured, is there any recompense given to them after their death?”

6. This question is from California: “This is an existential question. Where does the past end and the present begin? It seems like the present is actually unattainable to experience fully since the moment you focus on it, it is already in the past.”

STUDY GROUP READING #269
May 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. This question is from California: “Stories about financier Bernie Madoff's ‘ponzie’ scheme have captivated and horrified many people beyond those who personally suffered financial loss as a result of his actions. Would you share whatever you can about the inner workings of this man, and others like him, who are viewed as respected friends, but who perpetrate long-term and systematic betrayals of people that so deeply hurt individuals and groups that trust him?”

2. This question is from Missouri: “My question is about cleaner, renewable energy options that have a nature-to-human win/win scenario. What are the prospects of overcoming the greed and consumerism that seem to sidestep or waylay the attempts to find better, cleaner approaches? It seems so obvious that we must reduce our dependence on depleting resources and learn in cooperation with nature. Is there a bigger question here about mankind and our relationship with nature? What can you tell us about this dilemma?”

3. This question is from Minnesota: “With all of the various teachings about who God is, and how God works in our lives—from completely controlling our lives with a master plan, to punishing us for our ‘sins,’ to gently guiding us, to totally leaving us alone to live our lives, and all the various other teachings of religion—it gets confusing about what to believe. Would you provide some clarity about how God works in our lives, and how we as individuals can get a more conscious experience of God?”

4 This question is from California: “What is the point of loving God? Many people value loving God, but it seems almost pointless if God loves us unconditionally. What does God care?”
5. (Follow-up to Question Four.) So, could it be that the presence of Jesus and other masters perhaps has been important to help humans personalize their love for God, because otherwise, without the icons, the masters, the gurus, and that sort of thing—even the statues—if it were just energy, it would be hard to personalize it. So, the presence of such external things helps to foment the love in the heart for God, or for love. Is that true?

6. The following question was asked in a personal reading by a Study Group member in Washington State. I thought the Guides’ answer to this lady’s question would be of value to everyone in the Study Group, particularly in the stressful times in which we live. She graciously gave us permission to use her answer. The question was: “How can I learn to have more fun? What are some good ways to do things right now to enjoy life more?”

7. This question is from Tacoma, Washington: “You have told us that dreams serve many purposes, such as allowing us to feel feelings that we aren’t comfortable with during waking times, and to help us to work through various fears or challenges. You have also said that animals do not have individual souls, but have ‘collective’ souls. If this is so, then why do animals dream?”

STUDY GROUP READING #270
June 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. This is my question: “I saw Joan Rivers on TV recently. She is in her late 70s, but her hair is blonde, and her face is wrinkle-free, although quite stretched. I was observing that she looks nothing like my loving grandmother did, who was plump, with white hair, and who had had no plastic surgery. I thought my grandmother was beautiful, with a warm face that was filled with deep wrinkles, and a sensitive, loving expression. I was thinking that although, thanks to modern medicine, we can stay looking young—or at least without wrinkles and sags—there is a certain loss of the message and wisdom that are imparted by a face that has lived many years. Aging seems like a natural unspoken message that is received when we meet someone. The warm, comforting, safe feeling of my grandmother seems lost in an artificially “youthanized” face. Even though the person may feel wise and comforting inside, what they emanate in their surgically-created appearance is a different message. In our society, there is a conflict between what society seems to demand us to be, and what nature intended for us as a gift. Would you comment on this?”

2. I think the dilemma for individuals, particularly in the bigger cities, or in business, or places where they are public figures, is that they may feel, or prefer the natural look, but it is how society sees them and society wants them to be. So, that becomes a dilemma. It’s interesting that you made almost a Freudian slip where you said “useful” instead of “youthful.” I’m going to leave that in, because that’s how I think society sees older people, as not useful. In order to be useful, you must look youthful. Would you comment on that please?
  • Top of Page
3. This question is from Florida: “Thousands of our young soldiers are coming home from war injured and maimed. They were supposed to understand that they were fighting an ‘enemy,’ but in reality it was tribal groups trying to survive the only way they thought possible. Our soldiers were told that they were doing the right and godly thing to wipe out ‘terrorists.’ What would you say about this constant warring? Can we really stop fighting other countries and peoples out of fear?”

4. This question is from Maryland: “According to astrology, on February 14, 2009, we officially entered the ‘Age of Aquarius.’ Also, there has been an increase in media stories concerning changes that are supposed to be coming in December, 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar. Many are saying that we have, or we are, entering a new earth phase in which the vibrational field of the earth is changing. I am curious if we are entering a time of positive transformation of the earth, and is it similar to other shifts in consciousness over the millennium? Would you comment on what is really happening, and say what we can do to participate, or help achieve positive change?”

5. This is another question from California: “You have said that being alive is better than being dead. The idea that human life is magnificent seems to conflict with what you tell us about the glory of the perfect soul levels of reality. Would you please clarify this?”

6. This question is from Colorado: “What role does ‘God’ play in the process of human creativity? For example, when a brilliant idea just spontaneously comes into our brain, does that come from some part of ourselves, or from another source such as God?”

OPENING TEACHING
1. This question is from Australia: “Would you speak to us, in general terms, regarding current peaceful and not so peaceful areas on our planet? In other words, of all of the people now living on the earth, what percentage of people are usually behaving violently toward others and hurting
others, versus the percentage of people generally being kind and loving toward others? Is the level of good behavior increasing over time, or is it lessening? Are our efforts of those who are being kind, compassionate, and loving helping to raise the consciousness of the planet?”

2. This question is from South Carolina: “In the writing of the Old Testament prophet, Ezekiel, what exactly were the ‘living creatures’ that he saw? And what were the ‘wheels’ with eyes on their rims? Were these things something that the prophet saw only in his mind? Or, were they things that exist in just that way in a realm beyond our earthly realm?”

3. This question is from England: “Many people refer to a sense that they have that something that happens in their lives, for example a relationship, is ‘meant to be,’ or ‘not meant to be.’ Would you clarify how much we do in fact receive guidance in our lives, and how much it is entirely up to us in what choices we make? Do we actually receive guidance for such things as avoiding accidents, finding a parking space, or finding the ‘right’ job?”

4. This question is from New York: “What happens in cases of a miscarriage? Would you give us some understanding of this, especially since it seems that a soul’s decision to become human is seen as something that is desirous, infused with much consideration and energies, work with other souls, and a choosing of personality energies, an environment, and a particular set of parents? Does the soul want to animate into human form again, and then decide not to, or is there no plan to become human again and the miscarriage is more about an event that the soul intends for some purpose or reason for the prospective mother or father?”

5. This question is from Massachusetts, and the Study Group member asks: “I feel fearful of being reincarnated after death because there are so many millions of humans who lead lives of pain, abuse, starvation, and so forth. Like all humans, I would rather avoid these experiences. I know that from the Guides’ perspective, ‘all negativity is temporary,’ but I still don’t relish the idea of a life—or many lives—lived in severe suffering. Is there anything reassuring, or clarifying that you could say about this? Are those of us in the Study Group as likely as anyone else to have such a negative life?”

6. This question is from Maryland: “In the past year, during one Study Group Reading, you said that when people die, they take the positive energy, feelings, and learnings with them, and incorporate them into the ongoing energy structure. You said that the negative energy, or negative patterns, get left behind. What happens to those negative energies? Does the earth handle them? Do they remain as pockets of negativity for other people to deal with? Do they remain until the person returns in another incarnation to pick them up and deal with them?”

7. This question is from North Carolina, and the Study Group member writes: “You, the Guides, have often suggested that we recall, or recreate in our mind, our ‘inner goodness.’ Would you define that a bit better? Do you suggest that we acknowledge our recent successes, our positive qualities and traits, or exactly what? Please give an example of inner goodness so that I can relate to it a little better.”

August 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. This question is from New York: “What can you tell us about the life of Michael Jackson? What was he going through to make him so eccentric, and his appearance so disfigured through constant surgeries? It seems to me that this poor person, from his earliest years, had to merge almost at the cellular level with his audience, and thus with his image—and as a result had to carry all the toxicity of factors around fame and our lurid interest in celebrities? My feeling is that the cruelty that those factors brought to him was greater than his fragile ego could stand, and that in the end it simply snuffed his individual life force out of him. Would you speak about his life, and what it means to all of us?”

2. This question is from Kansas City: “My question is about energy production—alternative, cleaner, or renewable options that have a nature-to-human, win-win scenario. There are problems with even the smartest technologies being pursued. For example, thousands of birds are killed by the wind generators, even though they are very clean and efficient in other respects. Solar energy seems perfect, if it could be counted on. What are the prospects of overcoming the greed and consumerism that seem to waylay the motivation to find better and cleaner approaches? It seems so obvious that we must reduce our dependence on resources that are being depleted, and learn in cooperation with nature. Is there a bigger question here about humankind and our relationship with nature? What can you tell us about this dilemma?”

3. This question is from England: “I would like to follow up on a statement that you made in the May Study Group Reading about how humans like intensity. My question is about the role of melancholy, grief, and depression in our world, and in our personal development. Much fine expressive, artistic work comes from being able to celebrate a sense of failure, separation, loss, and so forth. There is also the idea that, ‘life is not meant to be easy,’ that it is a series of tough lessons, and that we are somehow intended to experience and overcome difficulties in order to grow. Would you please create a context for understanding these ideas in a useful way?”
4. This question is from Massachusetts: “According to some schools of thought related to certain systems of Astrology, there are specific times or dates that are more ‘auspicious’ for particular events, such as moving into a new house, or getting married, and it is believed that one should delay that activity until the ‘auspicious’ time. Would you please comment on this?”

5. This question is from Texas: “If we have done something in our life that we regret, that we believe was not Christ-like, is that held against us in the ‘brownie-points-in-heaven’ category? Also, if we spend most of our life perfecting ourselves, and end our life expressing as much kindness, compassion, and love as humanly possible, would you say that we have embodied the Christ Force in this lifetime?”

6. This question is from California: “Would you speak about the quest for divine perfection? In a personal Reading you said, ‘The human capacity to normalize even the most extraordinary experience always wins out. It is a kind of prod to keep you searching, and questing, and asking, and perceiving, and experimenting with life.’ Would you discuss this tendency to ‘normalize’ our experiences?”

7. This is another question from California: “Would you speak about the concept of ‘blessing?’ People say, ‘God bless you.’ What is the spiritual effect of blessing another person, or blessing a new home, or other uses of blessings?”

8. Would you please close with an attunement for us to use this month?

STUDY GROUP READING #273
September 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. This question is from New York: “Are there general patterns between two people from past lifetimes that today are being replicated in their present life together? Are there relationships that have always been basically positive, that is, one person being a support or mentor to another, or both individuals enhancing each other? Where there is negativity in the relationship, have the individuals again taken on similar roles with each other, that is, one person being the more ‘hurtful’ one, the other not assertive or feeling worthy enough? Do negative patterns continue to repeat themselves until the individuals find strong bonds of love, rather than bonds tied to their negativity and fears? Or, do lifetimes with a significant person vary in terms of being seen as either positive or negative?”

2. So, from a higher spiritual level, is the goal with any significant person in our lives to heal any negativity and create love?

3. This question is from Oregon, and the questioner asks: “I personally know people who are the nicest, kindest, most caring and giving, and yet they suffer serious disabling conditions that they were born with and are now growing worse with the passing of time. Would you please explain why these people who appear to be so loving are afflicted with such challenges? Are these consequences from past lifetimes?”

4. This is from Minnesota: What is the difference between enabling a person, say a child, and going to a higher frame of reference by doing everything we can for the person? Where does enabling end, and altruism begin? If one tries to live a Christ-like life in their choices, then their actions can sometimes appear to others to be enabling.
5. This question is from Wisconsin: “As we try to change something in our inner experiences, for example, trying to be loving instead of critical, it usually seems that no matter how strongly we feel inspired in the moment, we eventually lose focus and we end up being more or less the same as when we started. This lasts until our next period of inspiration. This cycle seems to repeat itself almost endlessly. What needs to take place within us so that an inner quality that we are trying to achieve is finally ‘absorbed’ so that it is no longer dependent upon how strongly we are able to keep our attention on it, but rather it is now just who we are?”

6. This question is from California: “Often, people will vow that, after their death, they will contact and ‘never leave’ their loved one after they die. However, more often than not, the surviving person does not feel the presence of the deceased loved one. Why is this?”

7. So, those who have the gift of being able to speak to the dead such that they convince the living person that the loved one is there, are they actually interpreting the energies and the presence of the deceased person rather than actually speaking in words to the dead?

STUDY GROUP READING #274
October 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. Our first question is from North Carolina: “What is the cause of the constant thoughts that come into our minds daily? I’ve heard that we entertain about sixty thousand thoughts a day. Is it possible to stop the thoughts? If so, how? If not, what can we do to lessen the impact they have on us, given that most of them are probably negative ones?”

2. This is another question from North Carolina: “What differentiates a wealthy, successful person from one who struggles financially in life? The wealthy, successful people have lots of suggestions for the rest of us, such as visioning, changing beliefs, using affirmations, and ‘the Law of Attraction.’ Often, these don’t seem to work for those of us struggling in the financial area. Would you please address this issue?”

3. This question is from California: “Would you discuss the spiritual relationship between Jesus and Buddha?”

4. This question is from Oregon: “We hear the words ‘God,’ ‘Holy Spirit,’ ‘the Christ Force,’ and the ‘individual souls’ that animate us. Would you help us understand the difference between those energies that comprise the spiritual realm?”

5. This question is from Texas: “Although some people can sense angels in everyday life, it seems that angels are most easily seen by humans who are about to die. People who have
never seen angels before may see a shimmering light and feel profound warmth and love from that light shortly before death. Also, the people around the dying one may see the angels as well. Why does it seem to be easier for most people to see these beings just before death?”

6. This question is from Massachusetts: “Sometimes it is said that God would be pleased if we do something good, such as being kind to a neighbor, or working for peace. Isn’t God beyond emotions such as being ‘pleased’?”

STUDY GROUP READING #275
November 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. This question was asked by a Study Group member in Seattle in her personal Reading, and she gave us permission to use her interesting answer: “You mentioned in the August Study Group

Reading that this is now a time to choose to bring the divine closer in. I’m wondering if we are shifting into a new time, or is this something that’s always been there. It seems like it has always been there, but it seems like there are so many challenges now. You mentioned the evolution of humanity. I’m wondering where we are at with that. And maybe what the opportunity is.”

2. This question is from Wisconsin: “Would you explain what parameters the spirit world uses concerning how guidance is brought into our world? For instance, it seems that guidance coming forth through someone like Ron is allowed. Yet, the Angels have not chosen to take advantage of the latest technology to establish their own television channel, which we could all tune into at will. Jesus does not appear in our living rooms to enlighten us each evening, no matter how intensely we desire to know truth. What are the operating limitations in getting us humans guidance, and to what extent is the guidance there by necessity versus choice?”

3. I have a follow up question about this because if the desire for guidance is motivated by fear, when a person is in a trauma situation and they go to church to light a candle, or to receive guidance, or they are feeling desperate inside for some kind of inspiration or help, it seems unfair that one couldn’t, because there is fear of what’s happening in their life, that one wouldn’t receive guidance, or receive inspiration or help. Would you clarify this a bit please?
4. This question is from New York: “It seems that some people suffer significantly throughout their whole lifetime and are unable to move beyond certain traumas. It also seems that some of those people suffer, not because of their own poor choices, but because of what they are exposed to due to the poor choices of other people. How are we to see this? Is this because of human choices and perceptions, or an inability to significantly heal present or past negativity? Isn’t there a limit to what certain individuals can do, or heal in their life, leaving it almost inevitable that there will be more pain than joy?”

5. This question is from California: “Many of us watch TV or read before we go to sleep at night, stimulating many thoughts in our minds. Does it matter to our learning period in sleep what we are thinking before we fall asleep? If so, what is an important attitude to take into the sleep period to maximize our rejuvenation?”

6. This question is from Massachusetts: “At times, the Guides say that we incarnate in human form in order to have more intense experiences. At other times, the idea seems to be that we have lessons to learn, such as healing a past problem with a loved one. Would you please clarify this?”

7. Our Retreat this year is about the mystery of earth life. What is a mystery about earth life that is yet to be discovered?

STUDY GROUP READING #276
December 2009

OPENING TEACHING
1. Our first question is from the state of New York: “There are people who see our country trending toward what some might call ‘socialism’ with new health care initiatives. They see this as taking away from the autonomy of each individual to make their own choices. Would you comment on this? Also, would you say which form of government, you, the Guides, feel would create the best environment for us?”

2. This question is from Kentucky: “Would you speak to us about our personal guides? Why do our souls need help from guiding souls to guide their human self? Are guides chosen by our souls, and does the same group of guides remain with us always?”

3. This question is from California: “When Ron is doing Readings, are there different guides that speak through him at different times, depending on the issue being addressed? For example, ‘medical expert’ guides for a medical question, and different guides for other areas of focus.”

4. This question is from Florida: “I have been very interested in the culture of India, particularly their ancient writings called the Upanishads. I am wondering, did the ancient Indians have contact with the Atlantians, and did the Indians have flying machines, as seems to be suggested in the Upanishads?”

5. This question is from California: “I was thinking that right now, I am the only living human who remembers my Grandfather. When I die, he will not be known by anyone. That led me to think that if we don’t do something important or memorable in our life to leave an impression on history, how would we rate the significance of this life? Is a human life mostly to benefit the spiritual growth of that human?”

6. This question is from Minnesota: “Is it possible that some day in the future all illness could be healed by modern science?”
